He is the founder and Chair/CEO of the Japan Fundraising Association (JFRA). He also serves as a GSG Impact Ambassador, Japan Advisor to AVPN, Vice President of Shizenkan University and Director of its Impact Economy Center, and Editor-in-Chief of the Japanese edition of the Stanford Social Innovation Review. After working at JICA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, he founded Fundrex, a strategic consulting firm for nonprofits, in 2008 (stepping down from the board in 2020). In 2009, he founded the Japan Fundraising Association and has served in his current role since 2012. In 2004, he earned a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Organizations at the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations, Case Western Reserve University in the United States, and completed The Fundraising School at Indiana University in the same year.
